The Drama Desk organization was formed in 1949 by a group of New York theater critics, editors,reporters and publishers, in order to make the public aware of the vital issues concerning the theatrical industry. Drama Desk Awards are the only major New York theater honors for which productions on, off, and off-off Broadway compete against one another in the same category.

Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative
The Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative is an LA-based movement working to ensure that women playwrights are fairly represented locally and beyond. We encourage the involvement of theatermakers and theatergoers who support our goals. We also aim to connect L.A. female playwrights to other women theater artists, organizations, and the theater community, both locally and nationwide.

Founded in 1897, the National League of American Pen Women, Inc.
