Icebox Radio Theater (International Falls, MN) – Seeking radio plays suitable for live, theatrical production. They are primarily interested in stories with some connection to the Northland - regions commonly referred to as Northern Minnesota and Northwest Ontario, Canada – stories set in these regions or penned by writers from these regions. Radio plays may be of varying lengths, but 30 minutes is the primary focus. They are also interested in prose stories not yet adapted to radio; stories 5 pages or less may be submitted in their entirety; for longer stories, submit first 5 pages followed by a one or two paragraph summary of the rest of the story. Urban Stages Emerging Playwright Award - Urban Stages' mission is to develop and produce new, multi-cultural works that deal with social issues. The Emerging Playwright award is presented to a new, innovative playwright whose work speaks to society as a whole. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize and a staged production of the play in New York City. Finalists will have their plays presented as staged and workshop readings. Galapagos Art Space Presents Natural Selection: Sunday Play Reading Series (Brooklyn, NY) - New reading series in Galapagos Art Space's new location in Brooklyn. The goal of the reading series is to cultivate a community of theatre artists from all disciplines and to create an environment where new work is fostered and developed.
